Hello I’m Anthony, Vice President of student council at Transition High School in Milwaukee WI. I love my school because it presents an opportunity to do a lot of things I haven’t accomplished. I’m also interested in taking initiative in Students Speak Out because it gives me a chance to voice my opinion and make a change.

My journey is explained like so, I was born to an African American teenage mother. My father was incarcerated most of my childhood and still is, so he had no chance to be in my life. My mother was not a high school graduate, she just recently receive her G.E.D. I pivoted my way through life, like walking into a dark room. I had to find my way along with my mother. I had a rough start into life because I was born with most odds against me. I was destined to be a scholar though, so I always excelled in school academically. I came into high school wrong; I think I had a mistaken opinion and immoral mentality. I got myself into a lot of trouble and never really realized it until it was too late; I was being expelled from all Milwaukee Public Schools. I took full responsibility for my actions and dealt with the consequences. Now I am in a better place, I attend Transition High School now. I feel at home here, like this is the place for me. I am happily on my way to success. I came in as a sophomore and within 8 months I recovered 8 credits and that’s equal to 15 courses. I am also active in 8 different programs and associations. I go to school, then work and fit all my groups and club in where I can. I am making it one day at a time!

I am Christopher, a junior at Milwaukee Vincent who believes that we can make a difference in the world that we live in if we all come together as one and work towards a common goal of making it better for the future. I love music, listening to it, downloading if from iTunes, writing rhymes in my journal, composing poetry, and playing my Xbox 360 with my friends. I also enjoy going to the movies and out to eat with my friends, too. Once I graduate from high school, I would like to go to college for journalism, or pursue a career in the music industry behind the scenes either writing or producing. I’m interested in SSO because it gives us as students a voice to be heard within our school communities.

My name is Spencer, I attend Harold S. Vincent High School a Milwaukee Public School. My interests are music, basketball, and economics. My current goals are going to college, getting a degree in business management, and have my own business. I am in an organization named Urban Underground that focuses on social injustices. Me, myself, I use SSO to communicate with others to correct issues in Milwaukee Public Schools.
