Tell us a little about yourself.
I introduced Students Speak Out in Milwaukee because I think it is time for students to claim their full rights and exercise the power of active citizenship. I think students should assume responsibility for advocating for themselves and delivering first person information about the ingredients that can make schools successful and worthy of their attendance. It is also time for adults to take these rights and responsibilities seriously.

I have been a political activist focusing on public education and cultural politics since I was 16 years old, which is a long, long time ago.
Why are you interested in Students Speak Out?
Students Speak Out offers students, elected officials, policy makers, educators, and ordinary citizens a chance for 24/7 public hearings. Students who participate will be creators of the visions, shapers of the decisions, and sources of the collisions necessary to improve the educational systems that currently fail far too many children and families in this city and elsewhere.

Hello Danny this is Mott. Here are some questions I came up with, while working with Marquita:

1. how do you feel about the youth today?
2. What is your honest opinion on society?
3. Do you feel that certain environments effect academic progress and how a person is in general?

4. How would you liked to be looked at in our community?
5. what type of problems are we going through in our community and how can we solve them?

6. What do you get out of your everyday life?

Here are the questions Javon and I came up with:

What is public Work to you?
How do you plan on accomplishing Public Work?
Why do you think it's important for students to be part of the democracy and not just the politicians?
Why do you think students are rarely considered active members?
How do you plan on becoming an active member?
How do you think people view you?
How can you change how people view you?
What are some problems you are facing right now?
What problems have you faced in the past ad how did you solve them?
How can you make your public and the community better?
How is your community?

I will ask Mr. Glabere to give me your address so I know where to pick you up. We will tell you what time and find a way to get all the permissions ready too.

Absolutely. I'll announce and try to plug it at a Monday morning assembly. Perhaps show the site and a video.

There's no reason as of right now that will prevent me permission to attend the workshop, but I will have a hard time turning in the permission slip in before the workshop because my last day of school was last week Friday.
